Floor Restoration of a Northbrook Residence with the Puritan Pine Stain Color

The residence features a spacious living room on the first floor, accessed via a single step down. On the left side of this room, several stairs ascend to a mid-level floor where a long hallway connects to a room beside the kitchen. Looking up from the base of the stairs toward this corner room, one can see a long balcony adorned with rich, dark brown wooden spindles and crowned by three round arches.

The hardwood floors and stairs were initially concealed by old carpeting, but our team carefully removed them to expose the original wood. Unfortunately, many damaged spots and holes left behind by nails marred the surface. We skillfully patched and filled these blemishes before sanding away years of wear and tear. The Puritan Pine stain from Bona, known for radiating a warm and inviting feeling, was then applied, bringing a rich vibrancy to the wood. This stain illuminated the grain patterns of the wood, lending a distinctive glow to the floors that perfectly complemented the architecture.

As sunlight poured through the windows, the stain enriched the floors and stairs with a radiant hue, filling the house with warmth and coziness. The big living room seemed even more expansive, while the mid-level floor and hallway gained a renewed sense of elegance. The long balcony overlooking the staircase stood out against the refreshed flooring, creating a striking contrast with the dark wooden spindles and arches above.

By the end of the project, the house had a renewed vibrancy and character, reflecting the owners’ unique personalities. The warm Puritan Pine stain transformed the space into a harmonious blend of charm and comfort. Visitors can now appreciate the natural beauty of this home in Northbrook, with the newly patched, restored and revitalized hardwood floors shining as the focal point of the inviting aesthetic.
