The challenge was not only to revitalize the stairs and the second floor but also to ensure that the color was perfectly coordinated with the existing dark brown flooring on the first floor. Stand Up Flooring recently completed a project in Lily Lake, Illinois, where we refinished and re-stained railings and stairs. This work was done on a subcontract for Redesign Floors. The project involved meticulous sanding to remove the old finish and prepare the surface for the new stain.

We undertook a renovation project in River Forest that required not only refinishing but also repairing and installing parts of the hardwood floors reviving the rich heritage of a home with nearly a century-old hardwood floors.

The floors, once dulled by time, now gleam with the deep, amber luster of Bona Nutmeg stain. Throughout the project, we see the transformation unfold. Initially, the rooms are a canvas of exposed wood and previous wear, showing the age and history of the space. STRIKING STAIRS REFINISHING IN GENEVA, ILLINOIS

Our collaboration with Redesign Floors led us to a project in beautiful Geneva, Illinois, where we had the opportunity to transform a stairway that had encountered a unique challenge. The previous finish applied to the stairs had become problematic, heating up and causing sandpaper to adhere during the refinishing process. This necessitated extra effort and materials to restore the stairs to their former glory.

Our team tackled the project with precision and dedication. After meticulously removing the old varnish, we applied a golden oak stain that breathed new life into the stairs. This choice not only created a warm and inviting ambiance but also harmonized seamlessly with the existing floors, stair banisters, and posts.
