The Floor Restoration Process

• Repairs and Preparation: Some of the parquet pieces were broken and had been poorly repaired in the past. We carefully replaced these with reclaimed pieces taken from the bathroom, as the homeowner planned to switch the bathroom flooring to tiles.

• Sanding and Patching: The entire floor was sanded using three different grits of sandpaper, ensuring a smooth and even surface. We also patched numerous gaps with Duraseal Maple Wood Patch, blending seamlessly with the original flooring.

• Color Restoration: After consulting with the client, we chose Amber Bona Sealer to enhance the floor’s natural tones and bring it closer to its original rich color, highlighting the beauty of the maple parquet.

• Finish Application: We applied three coats of Bona water-based acrylic finish, buffing the floor before the final coat to achieve a smooth and durable surface. Instead of using mesh, we opted for a special buffing pad, which ensured no scratches were left on the floor, delivering a pristine finish.
